The Sovereign King witnessed by John in chapters four and five is the ONE now opening seals of the Scroll. The Scroll contains God’s plan for the consummation of all things. One by one seals are opened. Christ the King commissions four horseman. Each of the four are symbols of forces that bring unprecedented and worldwide cataclysms. The chaos of the world will prove that things are not out of control. They are in the control of our sovereign Lord occupying an eternal Throne. He is crowned with many Crowns!

The subject of this text encompasses one great theme: the redemption of creation.

God alone is worthy of eternal Worship because of who He is and what He has done, is doing, and will do.

The Lord Jesus promised that the feeble church of Philadelphia would be unstoppable, unassailable and unshakable.

The story of the church of Sardis is a great example of the way God's Word will challenge our hearts. It is very easy to get caught up in doing good works but completely miss out on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Looking into the past at the Church of Pergamum presents an honest look at our present times. The problem of compromise and accommodating the culture leads to war with God. Our identities can only be found when we cling to the Gospel of Grace.

The Church of Smyrna as shown in Revelation 2:8-11, provides us with a great message in our current times:
Be sure you are beating the second death
Count the cost of following Jesus
Join with our brothers and sisters that are being mistreated for Christ’s sake
Do not fear anything you are about to suffer
Remember who the enemy is and is not

Don't be surprised by tribulation, that's where Jesus speaks. John first tunes his ears to hear the words of Jesus, then he turns his eyes to see Him.
