Hidden Doors & High Scores

This week we review Buddy Simulator 1984, a meta-adventure obsessed with friendship and riddled with (intentional) "glitches." It's a strange game full of strange choices. Grab your best friend and have the most fun ever :)

Until next time, probably just play Doki Doki Literature Club.

Well, we were going for a mini-sode, but this ended up being way too long to call it that. We talk about the new Super Smash character Mythra/Pyra, the boring-job-made-interesting master Lucas Pope, the unique systems of Star Ocean 3, the strange brick walls of Meteorfall: Krumit's Tale, the body-swapping creativity of Driver: San Francisco, and the newish updates to Overwatch.

Heil og sæl! This week we review two viking-themed games, the real-time 4X Northgard and the survival-crafting co-op Valheim. Don your historically inaccurate horned helmets, grab a flagon of mead, and join us in Valhalla!

So...this was supposed to be the next minisode with everything we've been playing recently, but it turned out all we've been playing was Nioh 2. So join us on a souls-like journey into 17th century Japan with historical facts, terrifying demons, and more upgrade systems than you can shake a kusarigama at.

Until next time, may you always find a Kodama in that corner.

On this episode we group together, gear up, and explore the strange worlds of Risk of Rain 2. This co-op roguelite has fast-paced combat and huge levels pouring down while the levels are sprinkled with hundreds of items and chests. Just like with Open Betas, you never know what you're gonna get, but it's always a good time.

On this episode we talk about all the fun stuff we've been playing recently. On the list of good games that cost too much money, from the frantic ferroequinology of Unrailed! to the beautiful battlefields & voluminous variety of SW: Battlefront 2. Next episode: Risk of Rain 2.

Until next time, may all your games go on sale to reasonable prices!

On this episode we travel into the whimsical and horrifying world of Omori! This brilliant RPG Maker tale grapples with deeply troubling psychological issues but tempers them with the joy of friendship, fantastical characters, and great writing. Pull out your photo album and grab a space on the picnic blanket. Next episode: Risk of Rain 2.

Until next time, may all your candy be nutritious!

On this episode we go, to the Mun! (see what I did there?) in Kerbal Space Program, an orbital physics simulator. We dive into the fun rocket-building, adorable Kerbins, and the boring, anemic mission system. We also touch on Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark, Jade Empire, and Red Matter. Boost prograde, grab your helmets, and lift off with Open Betas.

On this episode we take a deep and critical look at To the Moon, a pioneering and heartfelt game from 2011. We dive into the excellent writing, the tortured clicking, and some strangely jarring choices. We also played the fun (but dead) fighting game Absolver. Strap on your memory helmet and grab your stuffed platypus as we travel To the Moon!
