Hey everyone, Nick and I spend a few minutes at the beginning of this episode decompressing about what is going on with COVID-19 before moving on to the usual stuff. If you want to decompress with us, awesome. If you want to skip that, no worries, just head to the 12:25 mark. Either way, we're just glad that you're here. - Joel
Joel and Nick have a conference call to talk about conference calls. Really, the episode is just an excuse to talk about why they love Zoom. They also talk about other video conferencing/video calling tools such as Hangouts, FaceTime, GoToMeeting, and Cisco WebEx. They also discuss audio setups, common pitfalls that new users fall into, and conference call etiquette.
Also Jerry. You know Jerry, right?

Stuff from this episode:
Twitter:
Nick decides to leave the American Express club, and discusses exploding soldering tools. Joel talks about his favorite soldering gear, and Nick ruins the theme of the podcast with a “tech success” story. Joel brings it back by recounting his horrible experience with Android Auto, as well as his frustrations with soap dispensers and water faucets. This episode of the Hidden Node Podcast is sponsored by being all over the place.

In this episode, Nick is visiting Joel in Idaho for culture exchange. They discuss the Wireless LAN Professionals Conference (which they've just returned from), how to deal with foreign currency while traveling, inner-tubing, Nick's impressions of the Prusa MINI 3D printer, and... socks.
Also, Joel attempts to convert inches to millimeters, and Nick reveals what is wrong with how Americans label floors in buildings.
Stuff from this episode:
It turns out that "conference calling" is a thing, so in this episode, Nick and Joel have a conversation with long-time Apple expert Dan Jones. Dan talks about special Wi-Fi troubleshooting profiles for iOS and content caching servers, Nick asks important technical questions like, "Should I close apps on my iPhone", and Joel's Mac Mini turns out to be absolutely ancient. Joel is thinking about switching to iPhone, but when Dan reveals that his iPhone can't keep his notification centre aligned, it ruins everything. And of course, Joel can't help but talk about Android some more.

The tech Gremlins are out in force this episode. The original recording plans were thwarted by grounding "hummmm", which turned out to be a dodgy USB cable. Technical difficulties drive home the realisation that Podcasting is hard.
