The Federal Reserve today lowered its key interest rate to a range of 3.75% to 4.00%. Some reports cite this range at 3.9%. FOMC voted 10-2 to reduce the federal funds rate target range by 25 basis points. They decided to lower the target range for the federal funds rate by 1/4 percentage point to 3-3/4 to 4 percent. This marks the second rate cut in 2025. It’s aimed at stimulating economic growth and supporting the labor market. They’re concerned about slowing hiring.
