Caleb Flynn’s murder trial has put his affair, his former American Idol appearance, and his relationship with Alleigha Botner, a young woman from his church, under a national spotlight. But should Alleigha face charges because of the disturbing text messages she exchanged with Caleb about his wife, Ashley Flynn?

This week on High Conflict Hell, I explain the Caleb Flynn case to my 70-year-old mom, whose TV law degree comes from Perry Mason, The People’s Court, and Judge Judy.  I walk her through the affair, Alleigha Botner’s testimony, the text messages, and Caleb’s account of the night Ashley was killed. Then I ask her the question filling my comment section: Should Alleigha be charged?

The case leads us into a bigger conversation about relationships and family dynamics. We discuss what it’s like to be the other woman, what changes when the man has children, and how a new partner can get pulled into a family conflict, or become a weaponized stepmom. We also talk about the age difference between Caleb and Alleigha, the influence a church leader can have, and why so much public anger is directed at her.

Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA) star Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann have spent years locked in a high-conflict divorce and child-custody battle. After Kroy recently sought primary custody—accusing Kim of missing parenting time while she was working—the court temporarily suspended her time with the children. Just weeks later, their 15-year-old son, KJ Biermann, allegedly sexually assaulted a classmate. He has since been indicted on seven felony charges and is currently being prosecuted as an adult.

We break down the disturbing timeline, Kim’s allegations that Kroy physically assaulted one of their children, the former girlfriend who reportedly described him as abusive, and Kim’s claim that the guardian ad litem dismissed the children’s concerns and branded them liars.

Dating after divorce is complicated enough. Add kids, new partners, dating apps, exes, parenting plans, and high-conflict co-parenting, and suddenly your dating life can become everybody’s business—including family court.

This week  we’re talking about dating after divorce with kids: When should you introduce a new boyfriend or girlfriend to your children? Is the internet’s famous six-month rule actually realistic?
