It's been a little while since Sam and Thomas have had a moment to sit down and chat, so today's episode is catching up with what they've been up to, what training they're doing and what they're working on for the future.
Sam and Thomas are back and talking about the fitness and exercise they do outside of the martial arts. Why they picked up these things, and what impact it's had on their martial arts.
Thomas has been focusing much of his training recently on his poomsae, looking into more of the history and trying to find new things to learn from his basic forms, and new ways to look at them. In this episode he shares some of what he's been learning and he and Sam discuss and share their thoughts on these philosophies some of the initial ideas on how they can be applied.
Sam and Thomas talk about the Will Smith slap from the Oscars, looking at the form and evaluating both sides of that interaction from a self defense perspective, how things could have gone differently, and maybe how it could have been avoided altogether.
Thomas and Sam go through a couple of topics in this episode, including a look at the rules of the tournament from the latest season of Cobra Kai, as we try to understand exactly how the rules of this tournament work, and how it's organized, as well as giving our thoughts on Shang Chi, and Spider-Man No Way Home.
Fair warning, while we try to keep this episode as spoiler free as possible, there are some spoiler comments, specifically while discussing Spider-Man.
Sam and Thomas have two guests on the show. Old friends of Thomas', brothers Sean and Todd, hosts of The SeanGeek and FastFrett Podcast. Sean and Todd ask questions about martial arts, to learn more about the culture and how Thomas and Sam implement it in their own lives. This podcast is in fact a two part episode, and the second half of this conversation will be uploaded to the SeanGeek and FastFrett Podcast.
