Brian Davila, a partner in Ryan Pineda’s real estate education program "Wealthy Investor," and Javi, the COO of Pineda Co., reflect on the events that led them to move from California to Las Vegas. Brian started out investing by himself and with a small team. He was actually Ryan Pineda’s first student! Javi began in a more corporate role, transitioned into real estate, and has now returned to a corporate position. He took the best practices he learned in the corporate world and applied them in the real estate space.

The Wealthy brand now boasts over 40 employees. With the scale and growth, Javi and Brian discuss their struggles and leadership growth in the last few years. Communication and expectations are imperative in their roles when it comes to hiring and managing employees. Most people require 7 instances of reiteration before the message becomes clear. Have you experienced this?

What’s your stance on remote work? Brian thinks it’s acceptable but definitely prefers in-person work for leadership roles. He also makes the point that if a position is remote, talent is not limited to individuals living in your area. Javi worked remotely for a company with over 1,000 employees before joining Ryan! Javi emphasizes that communication is easier when the entire team is in person.
