VERMILLION, S.D. — Pipestone Area Schools graduate Jake Terry picked up a valuable piece of hardware during the South Dakota state football championships. The South Dakota Football Coaches Association named Terry the Class 11B football coach of the year. Terry guided Elk Point-Jefferson to its third state championship game since the 2022 season, finishing runner-up to first-time winner St. Thomas More of Rapid City. The Cavaliers topped the Huskies, 48-38, on Friday, Nov. 14 at the University of South Dakota’s DakotaDome.
