ST. JAMES — A signature win. That’s what the Pipestone Area Schools volleyball team earned during the St. James Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20, from the St. James Event Center. During pool play, the Arrows downed previously undefeated Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in three sets by scores of 13-25, 25-23, 15-13. “Like Windom and Canby, they didn’t allow the ball to drop,” said PAS first-year head coach Shelly Hennager about BLHS. “We rose to the occasion, and showed we were able to compete at a higher level.” The victory, in turn, made the crossover championship match versus Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton somewhat anticlimactic.
