It’s time to reveal our Game of the Year 2023 picks. 

In this New Year episode of High Scores High Stakes, Luvva, Tomahawk, Sherry, and Cardinal each bring their own personal Game of the Year to the table. There’s no group consensus here — every host chooses the game they believe was the best release of 2023. 

But there are a few strict rules: 

The game must have been released in 2023. 
We must have actually played it. 
And remakes and remasters are off the table. 

With those rules in place, the crew dives into the games that impressed them the most and explains why they deserve the title of Game of the Year.

It’s time for a brutal fighting game challenge in Injustice 2.

This week on High Scores High Stakes, survival horror meets the clock in a tense Resident Evil challenge.

We head back to the Resident Evil remake and straight into the iconic Spencer Mansion for a high-pressure scavenger hunt. The rules are brutal: 20 minutes on the clock to explore, survive, and complete as much of the challenge as possible — or fall victim to the mansion’s many horrors.

Luvva, Tomahawk, Sherry, and Cardinal (with the return of John Sherry) face tight corridors, limited resources, and constant dread as panic sets in and decisions get sloppy. Some rise to the occasion. Others… very much do not.
