Ed Marsh recaps our The Way series, and looks at how we can make apprenticeship to Jesus a way of life.

In this talk, Ed gives 3 questions for us to reflect on:

1. ⁠Where and how do I most connect with God? How am I leaning into this?

2. What are the practices I want to introduce or sharpen in my life that are appropriate to my personality and season of life? (Think small and realistic!)

3. Are there any aspects of my lifestyle that need pruning to help me bear fruit in my apprenticeship to Jesus?

In this standalone talk, Charmian uses the story of Joseph to look at the reality of reconciliation.

Jesus’ invitation to apprenticeship was an invitation to come and do life together as part of the family of God.

In this talk, Peter Hatton looks at how we can cultivate relationships that are marked by depth, vulnerability and a commitment to transformation.

In this talk, Peter asks 3 questions for us to think about:

1.  How committed are we to our life together? Which of the '…one another' sayings in the NT do we find difficult?

   2.⁠ ⁠Are we meeting regularly with other Christians in small groups 'to watch over one another in love' and learn more about what it means to follow Jesus?

   3.⁠ ⁠Are there strongholds of evil in our life together and in the life of the world that we are being called to overcome in the power of God's Spirit?

Being an apprentice of Jesus involves not just following but being sent, to ‘go and make [apprentices] of all nations’. Jesus sent His disciples to ‘do the stuff’ (e.g. Luke 9:1-2 and 13 ‘You give them something to eat’).

Jesus evaluated their mission trips, He received progress reports. He challenged and encouraged them.

In this talk, Rachel Clark asks what is the ‘stuff’ Jesus has for us today? What does it look like to be sent by Him to do the things He would do and where are we sent? How does He equip us?

At the end of this talk, Rachel asks 3 questions for us to think about:

1.  Invite Jesus to show you how much he cares for you.

2. What would Jesus do if he were [INSERT YOUR NAME]?

3. What habits will help you keep your attention fixed on Jesus?

Who are you becoming?

We are all formed by a variety of somethings and someones. In this talk, Sam Charkham explores what some of these things might be, and asks what things can help us to become like Jesus.

At the end of this talk, Sam asks 4 questions for us to think about:

1.  ⁠Am I expectant that God will shape my character over the course of my life?

2. ⁠What helpful practices am I already doing that I am finding to be life giving and transformative?

3. What am I currently doing that amplifies the voices of other potential masters that I should stop doing (or do differently)?

4. ⁠What new practice might I take up? (Remember - no shame!!)

Jesus’ followers ate with Him, travelled with Him, asked him questions and got into challenging situations with Him.

In the second talk of our ‘The Way’ series, Rob Scott-Cook looks at what it means to abide in Jesus and for Him to abide in us.

At the end of this talk, Rob asks 3 questions for us to think about:

1.  How can we allow the Holy Spirit to make Jesus’ presence more real to us?

2. Reflect on what it means to remain in Him.

3. How can we follow Jesus more in our prayer life?

Ed Marsh talk introduces our new series, reflecting on Jesus’ invitation to be an apprentice. What did it look like then, and what does it look like today?

At the end of this talk, Ed asks 4 questions for us to think about:

1. What would you (honestly) say is the driving aim of your life? What are your top goals and priorities?

2. As you look back on your life, who or what has had the greatest impact on your spiritual journey thus far?

3. Do you see yourself as an Apprentice of Jesus? Which characteristics of your way of life that demonstrate this?

4. What role does baptism play in identifying someone as an apprentice of Jesus? Have you been baptised?

Tim Dobson looks at how the Holy Spirit works in our lives today.

Dave Mitchell looks at how being filled with the Holy Spirit enables us to live an empowered life.

Tom Carter looks at why we should be expectant and what we should expect to see as we put God at the centre of our lives.
