This morning we find ourselves in Cana of Galilee. Jesus is at a wedding and the wine has run out. It is a major embarrassment and social crisis. Yet. John tells us that Jesus asks the servants to “fill the jars with water” thus beginning the teaching of Jesus for those in need. Who do we turn to when the wine runs out? Join us as we imagine where we are in the story.

The leaders for the Highland Oaks Church ought to be Spirit-filled followers of Jesus who exude wisdom and discernment for the sheep. This morning we conclude our study by hearing from a few shepherds who have learned the power of Spiritual wisdom and discernment.

For any who look closely at Paul’s instructions to the earliest church, they will find “qualifications” for leaders. But should this “list” be seen as a rigid set of exclusions or a way to define desired Spiritual qualities? Join us as we explore the important difference in qualities and qualifications for our Shepherd selection process.

This morning we begin our new series by looking at a moment in the life of Paul. A moment that is charged with emotion, expectation, and explanation of the leaders of the church of God. Join us as we consider how this moment can teach us about our need for shepherds in our world and time.

This morning we welcome Dr. Naomi Walters, dean of the college of Bible at Rochester Christian University. Dr. Walters will bring a message of hope and promise from the world of Ecclesiastes as we prepare our hearts for the beginning of a new season.

As we gather on the final Sunday of the year, we use this time as an opportunity for gratefulness to God for what has happened and will happen next. Join us as we worship, celebrate, and commune together while looking both "behind" and "ahead" of us for God's work among us.

It is the Sunday before Christmas and we look closely at one of the most famous texts in the story of scripture: "For God so loved the world." Join us as we celebrate the entrance of love into our world through the birth of our King Jesus.

Each year we return, on this Sunday, and listen to Mary sing "ahead of time" about her King. Today we learn anew the gift of Mary's joyful spirit as she announces to all willing to hear of the coming King's strength, mercy, and aid.

Today we look at the father of John the Baptist, Zechariah, and notice his Spirit-filled words of a promise of peace. It is because of the "tender mercy of God" that the promise of Christ can "guide our feet into the way of peace."

This morning we lean in and listen to the prophet Jeremiah say to people in need of a word of hope: "I will fulfill the promise I made... in those days." Join us as we begin this Advent season by listening to a word of hope for the weary world in which we live.
