Passion flares between enemies
Two hotheaded Highlanders, the offspring of feuding lairds, are tricked by the King's Regent into a desperate choice: marry or die. Bhaic MacPherson is more disposed to lead his clan into battle than stay married to the daughter of his enemy. But perhaps the intensity of his feelings has more to do with desire than hostility.
And the Highlands ignite
Ailis Robertson wanted a husband, not a savage - but when her family was faced with a deadly ultimatum, she had no choice. The union of a MacPherson and a Robertson could end three generations of hostilities between the two families, but can bitter rivals truly become lovers?

Hard to finish
I struggled to finish this book. Sometimes I wish I didn't feel the need to do so! Too many ye's & me's it become annoying. I'm a big Julie Garwood fan ... if anyone would have grabbed a hold of their woman like Marcus & his men did Ailis ... well they wouldn't have would they! Did not like the narration so precise and the women sounded whiney the men - meh! I like a good Scottish burr.
Spitfire!
Loved it!!!! Well written medieval highland romance with required kilted stubborn hunks and headstrong lasses.
Antony Ferguson's voice is the perfect sexy highlander and makes listening a sensual experience.
Very steamy, hot sexual encounters.
Definitely creditworthy!
Lovely story, felt sorry for the heroine
Loved the story, heroine put up with way too much in my opinion. And their chemistry was quite steamy.
Not hot and steamy!
Reading a review that said hot and steamy is why I bought the book! Definitely a huge disappointment there. Dont purchase if you want hot and steamy. This book doesnt even come close to hot and steamy. You cant beat Ferguson as a narrator though. I love the highlander books but I will return this one. This is one of the poorest reviews I have gave in a long time.
Ugh!
This was one of the most tedious, disappointing reads I've had in a long time. The language was just awful. It was close to parody bad. Really people that write about Scotland should at least research the speech and dialect of the people you are writing about. And the poor characters, they didn't have a single stable happy moment as a couple until the last 20 min. Why can't writers make their characters happy and stable with more outside conflict instead of spending the entire book doubting each other and miserable. So frustrating!!
