God's People Respond to Trouble (Exodus). Exodus can be broken up into three main sections. 1) The Exodus from Egypt. 2) The Law of God. 3) The Wilderness. This sermon details Moses' response to the various challenges that came to him in his life. 

A review of what is known as Holy Week, culminates in the celebration of Jesus' resurrection. We remember this every first day of  the week, and on this specific day Christians around the world focus on this most amazing gift from Jehovah. At the end of his lesson, Levi introduced a compilation of videos from some of our members on what the resurrection means to us.

Levi reviews the first two days of the 2020 Family Retreat and leads us in the station for this final day. He also comments on the current status of the coronavirus' impact on our fellowship. Finally, he reminds us of the events of what some refer to as Palm Sunday when Jesus entered Jerusalem to the adoring cries of thousands of Jewish followers. The events of that week culminated in Jesus' arrest, judgment, condemnation, death, burial and (hallelujah) Resurrection. 

The second sermon on Ecclesiastes begins with a reminder of what Levi taught last week. The we cover the second half of the book, which begins in chapter 7 and continues to the end of the book.

In these odd times of change and uncertainty, we can find understanding and wisdom from the book of Ecclesiastes in the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament). Levi takes us through the main themes of the book and challenges us to read through it this week with a specific viewpoint in mind.

As our country battens down the hatches to ride out the worst of the Corona-virus pandemic, our leadership decided to webcast messages and information via an array of methods. Levi opened with information and then reminded us of God's love and power. We still have a responsibility and privilege to serve God and His people during these uncertain times. And we can rest assured in His promise that He walks with us each step of the way.

The sermon highlights the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ, followed by the pouring out of the Spirit on the apostles on Pentecost in Jerusalem. Beyond that, the gift of the Spirit was (is) available to everyone who believes and is baptized and who follows in Christ's footsteps. Our challenge in our walk with God is to be open to the will of God in His revealed truth, to be as true to that as possible without adding to or taking away from the conduct He desires. We are to be faithful. He wants us to be united as a family. He wants us to be shining examples of His truth, despite the inevitable rejection this will often bring us from the non-believers.

John Mark Hicks visited to teach the adult Bible class and sermon. The topic was a book he recently published entitled, Searching for the Pattern. This class describes the concept of "hermeneutics"--how to study the Bible and determine God's will and guidance for humankind. The book lays out the historic view of hermeneutics the churches of Christ developed over the years. Hicks points out some changes in understanding that he has experienced.

Our instructor, Bill Wallace, continues his detailed look at the 400-year period between the completion of the Old Testament books and the opening of the New Testament. This lesson begins with a description of Alexander the Great and his influence on Biblical history, including the overall impact of Greek culture and language on the language of the New Testament. Biblical prophesies that presaged these events include Daniel 8 concerning Alexander the Great.

This is another in the series of lessons that go verse by verse through the letters that the apostle Paul wrote to the church at Corinth. 

The final paragraph in I Corinthians (16:13-23) contains Paul's farewells and messages to fellow Christians. He continues to emphasize putting LOVE into action as Christ would have done.
