Welcome to Highlighting Hues Podcast!
Today we are highlighting Devon Horace
Devon is friend, brother, advisor, and an inspiration. His generosity and and his investment in people is felt and I believe it’s contributed greatly to his early success. His story of paying off his student loan debt and becoming debt free all in a 10 month period, not only captured my attention but also the attention of major financial and entrepreneurial blogs, and media outlets. A young driven black man who provides so much value to black creatives, entrepreneurs, and to the community of Portland.
I met Dev through a mutual friend, Emmanuel Williams's and his Sox and Sandals Podcast back in 2017 where Devon was his guest. I got the chance to hear Devon’s story, ideas, and the process that lead him to his accomplishments. I couldn’t help but reach out to connect. And ever since we’ve been doing collaborations, projects, and business together! Dev is the first person I call for business, or financial advise and has become a real friend to me, for which I’m thankful.
Devon is a rare breed and wise beyond his years. He’s a founder and owner of Horace Consultant, co-owner of Mister Ok's Essential, investor (angel, real estate, VC).
He’s the Board Chairman of Alberta Mainstreet, author of a book, The Debt Free Strategy, venture partner with Oregon Venture Fund, LP with Black Founders Matter, apart of the development committee for Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, And as if that wasn’t impressive enough, Devon was able to do all of this before the age of 30.
It’s 2022 and Devon just keeps going. I’m excited for y’all to hear this episode. One of the deepest questions I ever heard that drives a human beyond just passion and vision, but to legacy, was a question Devon asks himself; “how long will my line be?” That’s the curiosity that drives him. Listen or watch and be inspired.
