Tina Postel, recently made a huge move….from Big Sky Country to the Piedmont…….that’s right….she left the mountains & streams of MT……..for the foothills & rivers of Carolina. Why? To lead the organization, Loaves and Fishes. We’re going to talk to her about her move from MT, & the outdoor pursuits she had their, to the Food Drive that the Boy Scouts of American Mecklenburg Council his finishing up, today.

The Hills are alive with the sound of music………snow & the written word. That’s not a wood pecker or a snow blower…..that’s Kim Jochl’s type writer. Kim, from Sugar Mountain, often talks about snow fall, base measurements & wearing a helmet but now she’s going to talk about her writing. Featuring new books & one from LY, too. Danny Bernstein, has hiked all over. She’s also written plenty to share her love of hikes. Now we’re going to learn some awesome places for us to go! author & active member of the Carolina Mountain Club, comes on to talk about her book on National Parks: Forests, Alligators, Battlefields. She’ll tell us where we can go & what we’ll see. Plus, some hikes around Charlotte.

Captain Darryl Smith has roamed the lakes and rivers of Santee Cooper for the past 17 years. Rain, drought, floods & dryness have been his challenges in maneuvering his boat and catching huge catfish. Let’s find out how this special area of the Carolina’s is fairing now & what we might expect to find on a visit.

When we last spoke to Coach Leslie Berens she shared her view of the 2016 Olympic Swim & Rio, Brazil. Now we’re heading her way to congratulate her on the state championship swim team at South Mecklenburg High School. Both the Men’s & Women’s team won & there are more common denominators than just their coach. Let’s learn about all of this from her right now.

It’s full of outdoor recreation & entertainment featuring paddling, rafting, biking, eating, drinking, running, climbing, rope courses & other things.
