BLACK WIDOW MOVIE REVIEW

The time has finally come, decidedly long overdue, for Scarlett Johansson as the Marvel character Black Widow, to have her own movie. This new adventure, while being released post-mortem, explores what happened to Natasha when she was on the run from the US after the events of “Captain America: Civil War”. After a bit of a look at her youth and an introduction to her “family”, we see that her “sister” (Florence Pugh) has sent her a package of a substance that causes brainwashed women who are in the currently existing Black Widow super-spy program, to come to their senses and be released from control. This naturally causes some issues for those who are still surreptitiously running the thing, and for Natasha who has to team up with her sister, her “father” (David Harbour) and her “mom” (Rachel Weisz) to try to take down the nefarious Red Room. Does this live up to other Marvel films? We got a larger than usual crew for this one with Chris, Beau, Ben, Marco, and Wright, and they did it in person (thus: a Highly Suspect Review). Things got a little out of hand…but in a good way, albeit one that ran a lot longer than our usual reviews. Sorry not sorry.
