FREE GUY MOVIE REVIEW

Ryan Reynolds plays Guy, a video game character who lives his circular pattern of a life as an NPC in a ‘Grand Theft Auto’-ish online game. All that changes when one day he runs into a player-character named Molotov Girl (Jodie Comer) and he falls in love. Only, he’s not supposed to be able to do that, what with being made out of lines of code. Turns out Molotov Girl is Millie in real life and she’s playing the game because she suspects that the game’s designer (Taika Waititi) stole a lot of code from her and her partner (Joe Keery) that would have created AI-like behavior from NPCs. Guy, as sweet and unassuming as he is, might be the key to the whole thing. But first he’s gonna have to learn to become a bad-ass video game hero. Chris, Frank, Ben, and Wright got together (in person, even, as this is a HIGHLY SUSPECT REVIEW) to talk about the fun they had with this and the pretty much embarassing levels of man-crush they have on Ryan.
