Director Catherine Hardwicke brings us this remake of a Mexican film featuring Gina Rodriguez as an innocent caught up in Tijuana between the charismatic leader of a drug cartel who has abducted her (Ismael Cruz Córdova), a super-corrupt police force, and the slimy DEA who don’t care if she gets hurt or if she’s guilty or not as long as she helps them.
