SEE HOW THEY RUN MOVIE REVIEW
Between Kenneth Branagh’s Hercule Poirot adaptations and Rian Johnson’s Benoit Blanc movies, famed author Agatha Christie and Christie-inspired mysteries are enjoying something of a resurgence. You know the type of story I’m talking about: a prominent person is murdered, a star studded ensemble of suspects gather in a remote but luxurious location, while a brilliant detective methodically breaks down each of their alibis to determine whodunnit. It’s a shopworn template, but See How They Run tries to breath life into the genre with parodic humor and metatextual hijinks while mixing fact and fiction – many of the incidents and characters depicted are based on historical events and real people. As narrator Leo Köpernick (Adrien Brody) informs us, it’s 1953 and Agatha Christie’s West End stage play The Mousetrap has just concluded its 100th performance. Köpernick is an obnoxious Hollywood director hired to adapt the hit play into a movie. Needless to say, he has several notes about how to “improve” the story for the big screen. He’s also very much dead; having been murdered during the afterparty, and his corpse dumped on the stage for everyone to see. Enter the world weary Inspector Stoppard (Sam Rockwell) and his overly eager new assistant Constable Stalker (Saoirse Ronan). Together, they must figure out who killed the reviled filmmaker, and there are a lot of suspects who had motive to kill the loathsome Köpernick. Was it the pompous playwright, the glad-handing leading man, the adulterous producer, the flinty rightsholder, or any of the other members of the ensemble? Ben, Marco, and Frank accepted an invitation from Inspector Cox to meet in his sumptuous parlor where he interrogated them about their reactions to the film. All the suspects saw the film and know whodunnit but who liked it and who didn’t? Listen to find out!

Christopher Lawrence Cox (Founder, Da Boss)
Born in the wilds of northern Virginia, Chris managed to put all of his survival skills to use and barely escaped with his life to Austin Texas in 1992 where ever since he’s dabbled in everything from plumber’s assistant to sandwich maker, from band to bar management. An opportunity to see theatrical release films for free by becoming a critic on a local public access show called “The Reel Deal” turned into a full-time job when Chris and his friends decided to take it to the internet. They built the site Spill.com, adding multiple podcasts and animated features, to no small amount of success. During this time, a fortuitous friendship sprung up between Chris and young Brian Salisbury, who was also a local film critic, and they merged their forces of will, and their laundry list of ideas for shows, to eventually build this community of critics. While Brian eventually followed his heart to a new family, Chris continues on with a cast of colorful folks from all over the country (and a few others). You can also check out Chris in his videocast, along with Martin Thomas and Danni Danger, that One Of Us does with our friends at Bell of Lost Souls: Crossover Event. He also regularly guests on the video game website Rage Select. Follow Chris on Twitter and
