Scripture is so nuanced, that if we’re not careful, it can be used to support our own personal agendas, ideologies or causes. Subjects like God’s love, judgement, societal justice, capitalism and socialism can become the lens through which we read the Bible. This can lead us to find isolated, supporting passages that are out of context, and will take us away from the true gospel.
