Hello, Curtis here and I’d like to welcome you to Hiking in Depth, where I share interesting bits about the flora, fauna, geology and history you encounter on the trail. In this episode we are in Southern Oregon and will be heading to Pine Bench, an anomaly of the Western Cascades in the Boulder Creek Wilderness of the Umpqua National Forest. Cliffside springs, fire charred landscapes, old pioneer tales and hiking hazards may pique your interest on this unassuming hike.
