The church is the community of people who know Jesus intimately, proclaim Jesus confidently, and obey Jesus sacrificially.
Rather than superficial religion, we need supernatural regeneration based on the authority of God's Word, for this work of God produces holiness of heart and it reaches all peoples.
Our worship of Christ is a direct reflection of our belief in Christ. We could also put it this way: What we believe about Jesus will determine everything about how we worship Jesus.
Jesus' parables tell of a kingdom that, despite being unrecognized and rejected by some, is already accomplishing its purpose in the world, and it will one day be gloriously consummated, resulting in eternal judgment for those who reject the gospel and eternal life for those who genuinely trust in Christ and treasure His reward.
When we see Jesus for who He is, we can either repent and receive His mercy, or we can reject Him and experience eternal judgment.
Although followers of Christ may experience doubt, we must trust in and submit to the truths of God's Word concerning who Jesus is and what He has provided for us in the gospel.
Jesus meets our greatest need by providing for the forgiveness of our sins and by defeating death on our behalf.
Jesus possesses absolute authority in the world and warrants absolute allegiance from the world.
To follow Jesus means to live with radical abandonment for his glory, to lay down and leave behind all things in order to live for the King, with joyful dependence on his grace, faithful adherence to his person, total trust in his authority, and to live with urgent obedience to his mission.
