Nobody likes talking about judgment. But Pastor Jordan shows us that if you skip past what the Bible says about God's judgment, you'll miss the entire point of the cross.

In Psalm 58, David launches a grievance against the corruption, injustice, and brokenness of the world and asks God to act. This message unpacks why that cry still resonates today, what Scripture actually teaches about the coming judgment, and the most important truth of all: Jesus is the only judge in history who ever took the verdict of the accused.

Psalm 118 has been sung at Passover and major Jewish feasts for generations, and its central message is a declaration that God's love never runs out. The psalm opens and closes with the same command to give thanks, because gratitude is not our natural posture. Left to ourselves, we drift toward entitlement, and when we stop being thankful, we start replacing God with other sources of comfort and security. The Hebrew word behind the phrase steadfast love is chesed, a word that carries the weight of merciful kindness, loyal love, and covenant faithfulness. This love is not conditional, does not expire, and does not depend on how well you have performed or how many times you have failed.

The psalmist writes from a place of genuine suffering, describing enemies surrounding him and circumstances that looked impossible. Yet he looks back and traces God's hand through all of it, declaring that God answered him and set him free. This is the nature of faith in hard seasons. You may not be able to see what God is doing in the moment, but you can trust His heart, and when you look back, you will see His fingerprints everywhere. God's discipline, the psalmist acknowledges, can be severe, but it is never without purpose. He is a loving Father who cares too much to let you build your life on something that will not hold.

The most theologically significant verse in the psalm is verse 22, which Jesus quoted directly to the Pharisees in Matthew 21: the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. In ancient construction, the cornerstone was both the foundation everything rested on and the orientation point that determined the alignment of the entire structure. Jesus is that cornerstone. When He is not the foundation of your life, everything else will eventually show the cracks. The word hosanna, shouted by the crowds as Jesus rode into Jerusalem, comes directly from this psalm. It means simply, Oh God, save us. That cry is still the right prayer today, and it is never too late to build your life on Him.

Psalm 51 is King David's raw, personal cry to God after his greatest failure, and it might be the most honest prayer in the Bible. In this message, we walk through the story of David and Bathsheba, what true repentance actually looks like, and why God doesn't just forgive, He fully restores. No matter what you've done, there is no darkness too deep for His light to reach.

Psalm 27 is a deeply personal declaration from a man who chose to preach truth to his own soul when everything around him was falling apart. David's confidence was not rooted in his circumstances but in the character of God. His one desire was not comfort or success but to dwell in the presence of God and behold His beauty. Real faith is not built in dramatic moments. It is built in the small, daily acts of faithfulness and obedience. Waiting on God is not passive resignation. It is active, trusting patience that refuses to leave His presence. The presence David longed for in the temple was ultimately fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who became broken so that broken people could be made whole.

Judges 4:1-3

Look at the sequence of things:

1. They were living against God
2. They wanted God to help them

1. They were doing "what was evil" in God’s eyes
2. They "cry out" to God for help

Look at the state of things:

1. They believe living however they want is freedom
2. They are in a state of corruption, brokenness, and chaos

Detaching from God doesn’t lead to our destiny, it leads to destruction
