2015: A Year of Prayer & Fasting
I’ve been hinting for a few weeks that God has impressed
upon my heart a burden to make 2015 “A Year of Prayer
and Fasting.” We generally have a theme that helps shape
our church life each year. This particular theme, however,
must be more than a vision-casting sermon in January or a
concept to contemplate throughout the year. Either we do it
or we don’t.
I trust that you will join me in this burden to pray and fast
this year, and I hope to point us to some practical
expressions of this burden throughout the year. But prayer
and fasting are choices on our part first, and then they
become action. Remember—choices have consequences,
and only heaven knows the consequences of a church
prioritizing prayer and fasting to seek the face of God!
