When someone else tells us we need to change something, what's our natural response? If we're honest, most of us are defensive, trying to find a way to invalidate what they're saying. One of the things that causes us to struggle in peacemaking is forgiveness. How are we to forgive? What should that look like? WHY are we to forgive? Join us as we see what God's Word has to say about the power of forgiveness.

As we continue in our Peacemaking series, we explore what it means to "take the log out" of our eyes. In most conflicts, we have something that we've contributed to the mix. We are usually quick to point out the wrong others have done to us, but Jesus taught that we must first acknowledge the wrong we've done: confess, repent, and accept responsibility. God's Word shows us that the Gospel is more like a fountain: continuing to give life and strength for whatever challenge we go through. We begin 2018 with a study on peacemaking: what is it, why is it important, and how do we practice it? As we look at the world around us, peace seems very limited. As we look to the relationships we have in our neighborhoods, families, and even churches, we see conflicts that arise without good resolutions. Join us as we look to see what God's Word tells us about peacemaking.

We've been talking about discipleship for a while, particularly in 2017. In this last sermon of the year, we revisit what Jesus has called us to do, some of the practical ways we can practice it, and what models we've been developing to help us do it. Join us as we talk about the practical outgrowth of the Great Commission.

Many of us will come together to celebrate Christmas, even amidst different expressions. But what is the reason? Why do we celebrate the birth of a baby in a stable? Why are seemingly ordinary parents so well known today? And why does that affect us 2,000 years later? Join us as we look at the reason for the coming of the Light of the World.

What does it look like to have love for others around us? In the calls to love our fellow human being, how do we express that? Join us as we explore some of the ways we can show love to our neighbor.

We have a tendency to hedge our bets. We create fall-back positions, hold back from total commitment, and wait to move until we're sure. Spiritually, we have a tendency to rely on our own work, rather than on God. Join us as we see what God has to say about our trust being in God alone.

When we think of joy, we often associate that with an emotion, such as happiness or delight. But God's Word portrays joy as something different, something that is a choice DESPITE our circumstances rather than beholden TO our circumstances. Join us as we look at how Scripture portrays joy in purpose, meaning, and application.
