Hillside Church Messages

God created you on purpose for a purpose.  You aren't an accident.  There is incredible intentionality behind your life orchestrated by Almighty God.  Purpose is a great piece to the puzzle of life.  We hope this message encourages and equips you toward stepping into your God given purpose. Scripture highlight "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10

Enjoy Part 1 of our new series: Greater Reward.  In this message our Pastor encourages and equips us from the Scriptures to pursue godliness.  Passages include: 1 Timothy 4:8 "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.”

All of life flows from our identity.  Our identity is the bedrock of our creativity, expectancy, and overall sense of the future.  God given identity enthuses us - it empowers us to move forward into all God has for us.  We hope this sermon equips and encourages you to live from your God given identity.

Psalm 27:14 "Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!" Sometimes our greatest step of faith is trusting God in the process by waiting on Him - and, not rushing ahead. Israel were going to be given their Promised Land by God.  Keep the faith.  Take heart.  And, know that God - in His timing - will bring the promise to pass.

Typically our response to resistance is despair, frustration and disappointment.  During this message we are reminded that resistance is a beautiful part of the journey into the promises God has for us.  3 primary sources of resistance we encounter are: 1) self inflicted resistance, 2) enemy resistance, and 3) Divine delay where God is resisting what we want in the moment to form us in Christlikeness and sustain the promises He has for us.

We begin a new series on the subject of faith.  In our journey with God He invites us to trust in Him and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).  Our series on faith will follow a special portion of the journey of the people of Israel from Egypt into the Promised Land from the book of Numbers chapters 13 & 14.

Generosity is one of the marks of being a follower of Jesus.  We hope this message encouragers and equips you in your journey with God and others. Proverbs 11:24-25.

In this message we discover 5 friends we need for our New Year.  The Scripture's invite us to wisely choose the people who influence our lives.  As we discover: the voices in our life determine the vision for our life.  We hope this message encourages and equips you in your relationship with God and with others. Scriptures for reference: 1 Corinthians 15:33; Proverbs 13:20.
