Hindsightless

I recap games of Cyberpunk 2020, Pathfinder 1e, and a cool game by James of Sub Class Act. BJ and Jason call in to say hello.

We have a very special treat today, boys and girls. Joining us today are two esteemed speakers from the GDC&PS ... or are they? Are there shenanigans afoot? Is everyone who they purport themselves to be? What will Brigadier General Chumley Bottomley Flapps (rtd.) have to say about the complaint filed by Donald Davey Scott and the claim that Donald makes? That's right folks, a real life Brigadier General took time out of his day to give me a call. We're also going to talk Halloween, sword & sorcery, and cyberpunk with our buddy, Jason. This one's a real banger!

I share spooky tales of a ouija board, ghosts, and play a bone chilling message from Spencer. Join me in having a ghoulish good time!

After traveling through time, I am back and talking about the first session of Cyberpunk 2020 I ran in more than 30 years! I also give a recap of my surgery and take calls from Runeslinger, Free Thrall, Goblin's Henchman, and Jason. This is pretty much all I can muster for a description. Enjoy!

Tell all your priests and kings, the Day of the Mighty has arrived! The Skull has decreed that Oct 23rd shall henceforth be known as the Day of the Mighty, a day to celebrate the awesomeness of sword and sorcery. I talk about a list of the Top 21 sword and sorcery movies of all time that I came across during my research, and discuss one of my favorite movies that I think could be considered sword and sorcery, but what do you think? I'll also talk about spoilers with Jason and Mr Henchman, Spencer has some awesome stuff to say, and Jason answers my question about Anchor questions.

Grab your steel, and get your thews sweaty, it's time for another episode of Hindsightless!

Just like the Warriors will be doing this summer, we're going back to back... stories! The NBA season is once again upon us, and things are looking good. This one kinda goes all over the place, but mostly focuses on backstories and collaborative world-building. We'll talk backstories, sports, world-building, my first episode, crows and squirrels, and more! Look at this list of awesome Anchorites and bask in their wisdom and glory:

Kevin, BJ, Spencer, Henchman, Jason, and Karl

Some folks agree with me. Some don't. Either way, it's all good and everyone has rad stuff to say!

I've started reading Time of the Twins again, the first book in the second trilogy of the Dragonlance books, by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. I read this book for the first and only time back in the early 90's , and I have some thoughts. Additionally, I have a few amazing calls from Jason, Spencer, and a brand new, first time caller! Time to open up the complaint department, it's a new episode of Hindsightless!

There's a bunch of stuff in this one. I got two recaps from recent games, more cyberpunk talk, and a few super nice messages about my reaching 400 episodes. Since we're halfway through October, I also talk about what I've learned so far about the OSR from listening to everyone's awesome OSR October episodes. Thanks for all the content, boys!

It's my 400th episode , and we're partying! I mean, not really, but it's still totally awesome! Jason, Kevin, Karl, BJ, and me are talking cyberpunk drugs, cyberpunk dragons, sending Anchor messages, and backstories. Oh yes, we're talking back stories. Below are the links to the Bandit's Keep episode and the blog post I mention in this episode.

Thank you all so much for putting up with me for 400 episodes. Y'all are the best!

I kick off the episode by discussing why the argument of "backstories are lame because someone will show up with a first level character that killed a dragon, and that's just silly" isn't a good argument. Then we get into some calls from Kevin on what to call Jason, from Jason on running games without reading them, and a long call from Karl about Cyberpunk 2020 vs. Cyberpunk Red vs. Shadowrun. I'm lucky enough to be able to end another episode with a fantastic reading about sleeping dragons, though this time not from Safer. No, this time we have Goblin's Henchman on the mic reading an excerpt from a book that sounds super rad! Sound good? I think so!
