For the inaugural edition of the podcast I have a very special guest. One of the biggest names in  Canadian stand-up comedy, as well as someone I am happy to call my friend, Nikki Payne!

Nikki Payne was educated at Truro Community College, Humber School of Comedy and The Second City Conservatory.

Nikki's comedy work has earned her accolades. She is the recipient of 3 Canadian Comedy Awards as best stand-up newcomer in 2003 and as best female stand-up for 2005 and 2008. She was nominated twice for Gemini Awards. She has appeared on CTV's Comedy Inc special, in Nikki Payne's Funtime Show, The National Film Board of Canada’s The Next Big Thing and Much Music’s Video on Trial. She was also semi-finalist on the American television show The Last Comic Standing and currently the voice of Becky on Teletoons "Bagel and Becky"

Welcome to Episode 000 of the Hired by Passion Podcast! In this short episode I will give you a bit more information about the goal of this podcast as well as who I am trying to reach. 

The Hired by Passion Podcast will be interviews of artists and entrepreneur who have turned a passion into a career.  I will also interview people like you and I who are currently trying to make a career out of their passion. I will be exploring how they discovered their passion and what day to day actions were taken to turn this passion into a career. I will ask about roadblocks and productivity hacks that have helped them along the way as well as what books or resources they would recommend. I will also try and infuse some of the knowledge I gained from listening to influencers such as Jason and Jeremy from Internet Business Mastery, Tim Ferris from the four hour work week, Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income, John Lee Dumas from Entrepreneur on Fire as well as Gary Vaynerchuk from the #AskGary Vee show.
