There is an eternal clarion call by the Lord. It is a call to all men to become spiritual. All men begin their spiritual journey from the wilderness (which is man's state when the Lord is not actively present). Even in the wilderness, the clarion call is heard through doctrine, which instructs the man on the path of repentance (i.e., the turning away from evils). Inherent in doctrine is the power to obey God's instructions; for apart from God, man can do nothing.
In this message "His Strength is Made Perfect in Weakness'', Pastor Jeffrey Walter describes the journey of man from the wilderness to the promised land. He explains how the Lord is present with man in the wilderness in the form of doctrine, and leads him throughout the journey. Lessons are drawn from John the Baptist being full of the Holy Ghost right from the womb, which testifies of the Lord's enabling power that accompanies doctrine right from the time it is received by man. This power strengthens the arm of man to fulfill the requirements of righteousness.
No matter how far you've gone, no matter your inadequacies, Jesus invites you to start a spiritual journey with Him. His strength begins where your weakness ends. Look to the Lord; He's your only hope.
Key Scriptures
"For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb." Luke 1:15
"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Psalms 46:1
For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them." Psalms 44:3
