Acts 20 describes Paul’s journey through Macedonia and Greece as he strengthens and encourages the churches. It includes the famous scene in Troas where Paul preaches late into the night and raises Eutychus after he falls from a window. The chapter ends with Paul’s emotional farewell to the Ephesian elders in Miletus, where he reflects on his ministry, warns them to guard the church, and entrusts them to God before parting in deep sorrow.

Acts 19:21–41 describes a major disturbance in Ephesus sparked by Paul’s ministry. As many people turn away from idol worship, local craftsmen—especially silversmiths who make shrines of Artemis—fear losing income and influence. This leads to a riot, with crowds shouting in defense of Artemis and dragging Paul’s companions into the theater. The chaos lasts for hours until a city clerk calms the crowd, warns them of legal consequences, and dismisses the assembly, restoring order.

Acts 19:11–20 describes how God performed extraordinary miracles through the apostle Paul in Ephesus, leading many to be healed and freed from evil spirits. When some Jewish exorcists unsuccessfully tried to use Jesus’ name without true faith, the incident spread fear and respect for the Lord. As a result, many believers confessed their practices, renounced magic, and publicly burned their scrolls, showing the powerful impact of the gospel and the growth of God’s word.

Acts 19:1–10 describes Paul’s arrival in Ephesus, where he meets some disciples who had only received John the Baptist’s baptism. After explaining the full message of Jesus, Paul baptizes them in the name of the Lord Jesus, and they receive the Holy Spirit. Paul then teaches boldly in the synagogue for three months. When opposition arises, he withdraws and continues daily discussions in the lecture hall of Tyrannus. This ministry lasts two years, resulting in the widespread spread of the gospel throughout the province of Asia.

**Acts Chapter 18** describes the apostle Paul’s ministry in **Corinth** and **Ephesus**. Paul meets **Aquila and Priscilla**, works with them as a tentmaker, and preaches in the synagogue. When many Jews oppose his message, Paul turns his focus to the Gentiles, and several people—including **Crispus**, the synagogue leader—believe. God encourages Paul to keep preaching, and he stays in Corinth for a year and a half. After facing false accusations that are dismissed by the Roman proconsul **Gallio**, Paul travels on, briefly ministers in Ephesus, and leaves Aquila and Priscilla there, setting the stage for further growth of the early church.

The Bible teaches that **generosity is a reflection of God’s character** and an act of love and faith. God’s people are encouraged to give willingly, cheerfully, and without expecting anything in return, trusting that God provides for their needs. Generosity includes helping the poor, supporting God’s work, and caring for others in practical ways. Scripture emphasizes that giving should come from the heart, not from pressure, and that God blesses generosity—often by using it to bless others and grow the giver in gratitude, compassion, and faith.

Jesus reminds His followers that true peace comes from Him, not from circumstances. Because He has overcome the world, believers can have confidence, hope, and courage, trusting that Jesus is greater than any difficulty they face.

To be loved by God is to be held by a love that existed before you were born and remains unchanging no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done. Scripture says, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have drawn you with unfailing kindness” (Jeremiah 31:3). God’s love is not earned—it is a gift of grace, shown most clearly in Jesus Christ: “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). This love claims you as God’s own child, for “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!” (1 John 3:1). To be loved by God is to be fully known, fully forgiven, and never abandoned: “Nothing… will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38–39).

To be still, is to cease striving and quiet the noise of one’s own efforts so that the heart can fully trust in God’s presence and power. It is an inner posture of surrender—laying down anxiety, fear, and self-reliance—and allowing God to be God. Scripture calls us to this in Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God,” reminding us that stillness is not inactivity but a confident resting in God’s sovereignty. Likewise, in Exodus 14:14, God tells His people, “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still,” showing that stillness means trusting Him to work on our behalf when we cannot see the way forward. To be still is to make space for God’s voice, to anchor your soul in His faithfulness, and to find peace in the reality that He is in control.

Acts 17 describes Paul’s missionary work in three major cities and highlights different responses to the gospel:

In Thessalonica, Paul reasons in the synagogue, explaining that Jesus is the Messiah. Some Jews and many Greeks believe, but others stir up a mob, forcing Paul and Silas to leave.

In Berea, the people respond more nobly. They eagerly receive Paul’s message and examine the Scriptures daily to see if his teaching is true. Many believe, but opposition from Thessalonica eventually pushes Paul to move on.

In Athens, Paul is stirred by the city’s idols and debates with philosophers. At the Areopagus, he proclaims the “unknown God” as the Creator who calls all people to repent, and he speaks about Jesus and the resurrection. Some mock him, others want to hear more, and a few become believers.
