  • Ep 1: The Sweaty Toothed Madman & The Captain

Welcome to Historic Yawps! Thank you so much for joining us on our maiden voyage which is an ode to the two men, Walt Whitman and Robin William's character John Keating, who made "Barbaric Yawp" a common phrase and serve as the inspiration behind our show. In this episode, we reminisce about the classic film Dead Poets Society, discuss the concept of our show, and share our passion for telling the stories of some of the most barbaric yawps in history. Thanks for listening!

About Historic Yawps

From the publisher's feed

Inspired by John Keating's character from Dead Poets Society and the poetry of Walt Whitman, Historic Yawps looks at inspirational people and moments in history that forever impacted the course of history. In the same way boulders have changed the current of raging rivers, so have courageous individuals redirected the course of human history through their words and actions. We share their stories... their struggles, their epic moments, and the way they reshaped the way we view both the past and our current world.
