    1. Discuss why traditionally textbooks have predominantly told the stories of men and not included stories of women.
    2. Why it is important to represent the history of both men and women in history texts?
    3. Vikings have very straightforward naming conventions. Can you think of some surnames that are common these days and work out where the name may have originated from? (Hint, someone with the surname Baker may have originate from a family who made bread.)
    4. Explain why Gunnhild's origins may be contested.

    4. In her campaign leaflet Longman said, 'there can be no true democracy where only one sex is directly represented in parliament'. What is the implicit meaning of this statement?
    5. When QLD parliament house was built, there were no female toilets. What does this implicitly tell us about the role of women at this time?

When you think child migrants of World War II, you are probably thinking of the children who were shipped out of the major cities during the Blitz or the Jewish children who were smuggled out of Germany, but today I want to tell you about a different group of children, children who were often lied to about their parents being dead and were shipped off to the other side of the world to endure a childhood of punishing labour and a life devoid of both education and love.
