History: From One Student To Another

Hello everyone. In today's LGBTQ+ Education episode, I will be speaking about the significance of dance within the LGBTQ+ community. 

Not only will I look at Vogue as a type of dance, but I will also speak about Jin Xing, a Chinese transgender ballet dancer, choreographer, actress and presenter, who Dior has announced would serve as an ambassador for its new fragrance campaign.

I believe that LBGTQ+ education should be compulsory in all education systems and available to all.

That is my aim with this series of my podcast— to give as much of an LGBTQ+ inclusive education as I can, as a student myself, and not just in relation to the history of the community.

First, I'll speak about the history of the Pride Flag. 

Secondly, I'll look at how the pink triangle has gone from being used in the 1930s and 40s to indicate homosexuals in Nazi concentration camps to signifying Gay Pride and Power and queer "safe spaces" since the 1970s. 

I believe that LBGTQ+ education should be compulsory in all education systems and available to all.

From 2021, all public schools in Scotland will receive lessons in a range of issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community such as same-sex marriage, same-sex parenting, discriminations faced by all members and the HIV and AIDS epidemic, which largely affected the gay community.
