Myrtle Maclagan and Betty Snowball (pictured) formed a formidable opening batting partnership; Myrtle also opened the bowling with Mary "Peta" Taylor the fastest  bowler on show.

Australia had leg spinner Peggy Antonio known as "The Girl Grimmett" and Queenslands premier allrounder Kath Smith.

Bill O'Reilly, pictured, climbed up to the very top step of Test bowlers, he and Clarrie Grimmett provided the wickets while Don Bradman and Bill Ponsford scored the runs.
