In the second hour, Barry and Joe are joined by MLB.com's Phil Rogers to breakdown which MLB contenders he likes, along with where Giancarlo Stanton could end up and which managers could loose their jobs come the offseason. Afterwards, the guys breakdown why Javier Baez needs to return to second base once Addison Russell returns. They also discuss an odd comment from Yankees' pitcher C.C. Sabathia (Hour 2 - 9/03/2017).

In the third hour, Astros' broadcaster Geoff Blum joins Barry and Joe to discuss the positive stories from Houston after the hurricane hit earlier in the week. Later on, the guys discuss why Jake Arrieta isn't the same pitcher from 2015, along with continuing their conversation about Baez and Russell needing to be on the field together. In the final hour, Barry and Joe are joined by Bill Plunkett from the Orange County Register on what could keep the Dodgers from winning a World Series, along with why they have the pieces to do it. Producer Eli then jumps on with his White Sox minor league stats, and the guys hear a season recap of the show. Barry and Joe also discuss why the Cubs' bullpen is concerning come the playoffs. In the first hour of the show, Barry Rozner and Joe Ostrowski dive into the teams who they expect to make runs in the postseason, including the Dodgers, along with what could hold them back. They also go into who will start in right field for the Cubs during the playoffs, along with a funny tweet from a baseball columnist.

In the second hour, Barry and Joe talk with MLB Network's Joe Magrane about Giancarlo Stanton's rise of late, as well as with his days playing for the Cardinals and White Sox. They also dive into how the White Sox's youth isn't comparable to the recent Cubs' farm system. 

In the final hour of the show, The Score's Bruce Levine dives into where White Sox pitcher Miguel Gonzalez could go before the waiver deadline, along with some Cubs' notes. They also talk with Cleveland Indians' TV voice Matt Underwood on how their team has played of late. The guys wrap up the show with how the Cubs' bullpen will be managed in the postseason.

In the third hour of Hit & Run Barry Rozner brings in Laurence Holmes live in-studio. They discuss the Cubs, White Sox, minor league trips, and why Barry's personal items are laying around the Hall of Fame.

In the fourth and final hour of Hit & Run Barry Rozner visits with the Score's Baseball expert Bruce Levine, and also gives his thoughts on the umpires wearing white wristbands to protest verbal attacks from players.
