For this round, I chose to make a cover of the beautiful worship song “What Can I Do?” by Tye Tribbeth, featuring KJ Scrivins. The first time I listened to this song, the chorus alone struck something deep within me:

One major inspiration for choosing this song is the honesty in those lyrics. They reflect the kind of conversation many of us have with God in moments of reflection, gratitude, or even weakness. For me, this song captures a sincere cry of surrender — acknowledging that without God’s presence, guidance, and mercy, life loses its meaning. Singing it feels like opening my heart and letting the words speak exactly what I sometimes struggle to express.

I also chose this song for Hive Open Mic Week 294 because this community encourages authenticity. Every week, we see musicians from different backgrounds expressing their truth through sound. This song allows me to contribute something raw, personal, and deeply spiritual. It aligns perfectly with my intention for this week: to offer a song that is not just melodic but meaningful.

Performing “What Can I Do?” reminds me how dependent I am on God daily, and I hope that same feeling of humility and worship reaches anyone who listens.
