Hello everyone đź‘‹,
Warm greetings to the entire Afritune community all around the world.
I’m sincerely happy to be part of this beautiful season and also grateful for another opportunity to share music on this wonderful platform.
First of all, I want to appreciate Afritune for consistently creating a space where African creatives can express themselves through sound and culture. Big thanks to the organizers, community leaders, moderators, curators, and every contributor who keeps this movement alive. Your dedication and support do not go unnoticed.
Special appreciation as well to everyone participating in the Afri Christmas Volume 4 Challenge. This initiative has once again brought us together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas through music, unity, and creativity. It is always a joy to see how music connects us beyond borders here on the Hive blockchain.
My name is success978654, and today I’m glad to be sharing my original song as my entry for Afri Christmas Volume 4, titled “Emmanuel.”
The inspiration behind this song came from deep reflection on the Christmas story and what it truly represents. Christmas is not just about festivities, lights, or gatherings—it is about the birth of hope.
The name Emmanuel, meaning “God with us,” reminds us that God chose to dwell among humanity, bringing salvation, peace, and restoration.
As I wrote this song, I reflected on the prophecy “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given,” and how that single moment changed the course of history.
The song captures the announcement of Christ’s birth, the journey of the wise men from the East, and the rejoicing of all creation—heaven and earth responding to the arrival of the Savior.
I also infused this song with a spirit of worship and celebration, using both English and Igbo expressions. The phrase “Agam ebuli Elu” (I will lift Him up) represents our response as believers—lifting up Christ in praise, gratitude, and reverence.
Through Emmanuel, my prayer is that listeners are reminded of God’s love, His nearness, and the peace that comes through Christ. May this song bless you, inspire worship, and keep the true meaning of Christmas alive.
Thank you for listening, and I’m honored to share this with the Afritune family.
For unto us a Child is born,
A Son is given to us.
The King of kings, the Counselor,
Immanuel He is called.
To save the world from captivity
And to free us all from sin.
For unto us He is born.
Emmanuel, He has come to give us life.
Emmanuel, the Savior of the world.
Emmanuel, He is called the Prince of Peace.
Hallelujah,
I can hear the sound of the three wise men
Coming down from the East,
With their silver, myrrh, and frankincense
To offer to the King.
Emmanuel,
Emmanuel,
I can hear the sound of the birds
As they lift their songs of praise,
With their trumpets, guitars, and harp,
Playing to the King.
Silent night, silent night,
A King is born today.
Silent night, silent night,
(I will lift Him up)
Agam ebuli Elu
