This English subtitled film explores the idea that the education of deaf people can be viewed through the lens of colonialism. Ryan Commerson, a deaf academic and activist, suggests that deaf individuals have been oppressed by hearing people through oralism, similar to the oppression experienced by indigenous peoples in colonized countries. He proposes applying post-colonial thinking to address this oppression. The film will examine this idea and question whether deaf education should be "decolonized."
