We also talked about Utah Hockey Club changing their name to Utah Mammoth as the official announcement was made on Wednesday. Hello guys. Welcome back to another video. In this episode, I broke down Utah Hockey Club changing their name to Utah Mammoth. This certainly caught me by surprise. This was something I expected to be done in the offseason. Around the NHL Draft or NHL Free Agency. Didn't expect this to happen now. I did expect Utah Mammoth to be the official name because it stuck out out of the 3 options they had (Utah Hockey Club, Utah Mammoth, and Utah Outlaws) and also they leaked that name a few weeks ago on YouTube and Twitter.
Anyways I broke down what you need to know about the name changing and why Mammoth was a great option. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the episode. This episode is out on the TG Hockey Channel but decided to also drop it on my Hockey Talk with TG Podcast
Hello guys. Welcome back to another episode of the Hockey Talk with TG Podcast. In this episode, we talked about the New York Islanders winning the draft lottery on Monday. Something that still shocks me and all of the hockey world as they JUMPED from the 10th spot to the No. 1 overall spot. This is the 1st time the Isles will select the No. 1 overall pick since 2009 when they drafted John Tavares. It will be interesting to see who they draft. Do they draft Matthew Schaefer, Michael Misa, or the hometown kid James Hagens? We'll just have to wait for the draft to find out.We also recapped the Stanley Cup Playoff games from Monday and Tuesday. The Maple Leafs held on for a 5-4 win over the Panthers on Monday in game 1 to take a 1-0 series, but will the defending champs strike back in game 2 to even up the series 1-1? We break it all down in this episode.
Also the Canes and Caps 2nd round series started Tuesday with Carolina winning 2-1 in OT and taking a 1-0 series lead. The Carolina Hurricanes weren't the only team to kick off their 2nd round series with a win on the road Tuesday as the Edmonton Oilers made history and rallied their 5th straight comeback in the playoffs in the 3rd period and win 4-2 against the Golden Knights and take a 1-0 series lead. We talk about this in Wednesday's episode of the Hockey Talk with TG Podcast and more NHL News for today.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the episode. DON'T FORGET to FOLLOW the Hockey Talk with TG Podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart Radio, and SUBSCRIBE to the YouTube channel. Viewers will be able to witness live how the NHL Draft Lottery usually works. This will be at the NHL Network Studio in Secaucus, New Jersey. Then we talked about the 2nd round of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The defending Stanley Cup Champions Florida Panthers kick off their 2nd round series against the Atlantic Division Champions Toronto Maple Leafs today at 7:00 p.m. CST on ESPN and we previewed ALL 2nd round matchups of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the episode.
