Hold My Banner

Drama brewing within the Philadelphia 76ers! Tyrese Maxey recently called out Joel Embiid for being late to meetings during a 1.5 hour player-only meeting led by Kyle Lowry. The guys also discuss the 76ers’ disastrous 2-11 start, including a shocking loss to the Heat where Embiid didn’t record a single free-throw attempt for the first time since 2018. Will this internal dysfunction be enough to derail their playoff hopes this season? The 76ers definitely need something to change

The Cleveland Cavaliers Vs Boston Celtics matchup lived up to the hype! Both the Cavs and the Celtics showed that they are the real contenders out East. Travis Thomas kicks things off with a fiery rant about the Eastern Conference, claiming that it’s Boston and Cleveland at the top, with everyone else fighting for scraps. The host also dive into James Harden's legacy — will he be remembered for his greatness or his infamous collapses? Harden recently passed Ray Allen to become 2nd all-time in career three-pointers made, adding another major milestone to his storied career.

Travis then reintroduces Ountae Campbell to the conversation, and the two discuss why the NBA's "Last 2 Minute Report" should not be shared with the public. Ountae claims the L2M is pointless. Then the two dive into the struggling 76ers, they explore the team’s dire situation (2-11 record) and the issues surrounding Joel Embiid’s lack of free-throws against the Heat, along with Tyrese Maxey challenging Embiid over his tardiness in a player meeting led by Kyle Lowry.

Then, it’s time for "Win In 7" — a fun segment where Travis asks questions to guess a mystery NBA player that Ountae is thinking of.

Later, the guys look at the Nets' decision not to extend Cam Thomas and discuss why it could be difficult to find a trade partner. What are the top two teams that should be calling Brooklyn?

Finally, the guys wrap up the show with a quick preview of their NBA League Pass Game to Watch, with Ountae recommending Hawks vs. Warriors and Travis highlighting Knicks vs. Suns. Plus, don’t miss Travis’ thoughts on the potential changes to the NBA All-Star format.

Tune in for all that and more on this packed episode of Hold My Banner, hosted by Travis Thomas and Ountae Campbell! Catch 'Hold My Banner' every Wednesday and Friday on NESN's Youtube, Twitch, Facebook, and wherever you listen to podcasts.

Tonight's matchup between the Thunder and the Pelicans—two teams dealing with major injuries. This Thunder & Pelicans game is important but the future is more important. Their stars, Chet Holmgren and Zion Williamson, will miss a good chunk of the NBA season! With Zion Williamson out and Dejounte Murray sidelined for the year, the guys debate whether the Pelicans' season is over or if they can still find a way to stay competitive. Meanwhile, the Thunder are dealing with injuries of their own, including the absence of Isaiah Hartenstein, leaving them with a starting lineup where their tallest player is just 6'6. Can OKC keep winning without a strong rebounding presence, or will Sam Presti need to make a trade to keep the team in playoff contention?

Which team are you more worried about—OKC or New Orleans? Tune in to hear Travis Thomas and Ountae Campbell break it all down! Catch us every Wednesday and Friday on NESN's Youtube, Twitch, Facebook, and wherever you listen to podcasts.

The Cavaliers are the hottest team in the NBA but the Celtics are still the championship favorites? Cleveland fans are already talking championships but the Celtics may have something to say about that. Who would you choose in a 7 game series, Celtics or Cavs?

Travis kicks things off with a fiery rant on Jaylen Brown's leadership, explaining how the Celtics star has already set the tone for Boston's season. They also talk about why the Cavs' success is here to stay, and discuss NBA Power Rankings, including who’s making waves at the top of the league.

The guys tackle the big question: New Year, Same NBA? Is the Eastern Conference as bad as it looks with only two teams over .500? Plus, how will injuries to Chet Holmgren and Zion Williamson impact the Thunder and Pelicans moving forward?

Stop Me When You Hear a Better Player Than… Donovan Mitchell! The Cavs are off to a scorching 12-0 start, and Ountae draws up some comparisons to the NBA's past and current best. But are they tripping on some of the latest league hot takes? The guys break down the anonymous NBA scout’s critique of Victor Wembanyama, claiming he’s "not impactful at all on offense." And is LaMelo Ball really as big of a name as Chandler Parsons suggests, or is it just a matter of market?

Lastly, don’t miss the NBA League Pass Game to Watch picks for this week! Ountae’s all in on Pistons at Bucks, while Travis has his eye on Suns at Kings.
