Holding Down The Fort with Alejandro Soto

Huge shout out to rick for joining me on the show! I had a great time sitting down to record this episode and it’s great to be able to share it with you. We shared some stories, some thoughts and opinions and over all had an enjoyable afternoon, even after my bike tire exploded the morning of recording. Thanks to everyone for listening! Be sure to check out rick’s links below!

Hello everybody! I’m back with a fresh episode for you today with another FW dance scene veteran. Jocelyn and I met through the East Ende Eclectic and it was great to sit down and hear about her experiences in and out of the FW scene. This is a world I know very little about and having the chance to learn more about it is so cool. Be sure to check out the links below if you’re feeling inspired to try your feet at some break dancing!

Hey folks! This is a real good one for you today. My good friend Lucas Gerke reached out to me about wanting to promote the book he wrote and I immediately bought a copy and asked when he could come be on the show. Lucas has a straight shot to my funny bone and always has. Funny how some things don’t change. We had a great time recording this episode and I hope you enjoy giving it a listen. Be sure to check out the links below to buy a copy of ‘Internal Damage’ or to listen to the other podcast he recorded. I’m almost done reading the book! I’ve got like another hundred pages and I have no idea how it’s all gonna shake out. Thanks for listening! Go read a book!

For this episode I got to sit down with a Fort Wayne powerhouse of creativity. A true tour de force in the Fort. Rachelle is the communications director for the Arts United, she is the director of the Fort Wayne Bombshells, she is an active member in the East Ende Eclectic and those are just the highlights. She’s also a genuinely good hearted person who walks her dogs through the neighborhood. The Saturday after this posts the Bombshells have a show which you should definitely get tickets to. I’ll be there! Check out other links to keep up with what Rachelle is doing in and for the community.

Everybody help me give a warm welcome back to K. Edward Smith, also known as Kyle. We recorded this episode on the day his album ‘Secondhand Something’ came out and the release show that evening is one I’m gonna remember. There’s a lot of songs on this album I’ve been able to hear him play live over the last year and it’s awesome to see them done right and released to the world. So please check out the links to his pages below. Buy the digital album. He actually told me downloads are free on Bandcamp. Maybe pick up a vinyl. I did. Totally worth it. As always, thanks for listening!

Everyone welcome Amanda back to the show! It’s been a minute and we get into some good stuff in today’s episode. We did take a dance break in the middle of this one and you might find that video on one of her social media pages if you look for it. No promises. Definitely check out what Amanda is doing in Fort Wayne and get connected with her if you’re interested in what she’s talking about in this conversation. She hosts group art events and makes art herself that is very much worth checking out if you get the chance. Thanks for listening and I’ll catch you later!

My dear friend Maggie Clifton joined me for this episode and I’m glad we got to make this one happen. I always love talking to Maggie and it’s great having this podcast so you can hear the kinda shit we dish out for each other. There’s a lot of good stuff in this one. Follow the Brave Alliance at the link below and stop in sometime and say hello. They do a lot of monthly community events over there too. Be part of the scene! Thanks for listening!

I’m back to Holding Down the Fort! The second half of last year got crazy and busy and this project fell by the wayside but I’m grateful to be back at it and to have my friend Garrett be my first guest as I get into the swing of it. He’s definitely one of them I want to have back on the show. Be sure to check out Pulver’s Pub on the second Saturday of every month. Funk You Inc. does a great job of putting together a fun night out. Be part of the scene! Check out Garrett’s links below and show this guy some support.

If you would please consider joining the Patreon page I would appreciate it so much. There is a free tier that gets all the episodes and MasivAir, my pirate radio show that’s a Patreon exclusive. If you want to give me money that’s cool too.
