Shattered but Unbroken

Holiday meal for people far from home

Listen Later

Episode Description

In this episode, I share a heartfelt story about Thanksgiving, kindness, and community. This year, my family, my friends, and I decided to host a Thanksgiving dinner for the people I work with at “the Bride”—especially those who don’t have family nearby, or who couldn’t travel home for the holiday.

I wanted to create a warm place for everyone to feel welcome. I know the feeling of loneliness, and I never want anyone to spend the holiday alone. So I opened my home and invited coworkers from different states, people who are by themselves, and anyone who needed a seat at the table.

I am thankful for the support I received from my family, my father-in-law, my mother-in-law, and my friends who helped with food, time, and money. Their kindness made this dinner possible. I’m excited, hopeful, and grateful for everyone who wants to join—even those who said “maybe.”

In this episode, I share what it means to come together, help one another, and accept help when we need it. Sometimes we all feel lonely, but when someone reaches out with kindness, it’s okay to say yes. I hope this Thanksgiving brings warmth to everyone who joins and to anyone listening today.
