He has a knack for helping those who have identified themselves as needing help to control their drinking. This subject, in particular, is very personal for Matt as he has battled with alcohol for most of his adult life.

Matt’s unique training (including 5 Coaching certifications) enables him to help his clients confront & strip away their negative self-talk and any victim mentality they have; they then emerge on the other side ready to take action, and to “Celebrate the Wins”!

While he is not working with his clients, Matt is the host of 2 podcasts: ‘Electric Soil Podcast’ and ’10 Albums’. He is also the singer/guitarist in the alt-rock band ‘Ground Level Falcons’, based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Matt is also a huge advocate for the mental & physical health benefits that come with Arts & Creativity.

This past summer he released an online course named ‘Creative Minds Conservatory’ that helps pursue or re-engage a hobby or passion. The course also deals with: working through creative blocks, effective use of due dates, the importance of your work environment and the post-care that comes after releasing a project to the world.

For 21 years, Don Brien Gatewood has led several nonprofit initiatives in Detroit and Washington DC. Gatewood has led large teams, program operations, strategic planning, accounting, communications, compliance regulations, fundraising for several organizations including American Red Cross and Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit and Washington and the Center for Workforce Inclusion. 

Gatewood is currently co-founder and CEO of The Initiative Baltimore, a Professional Leadership Consultant, and the host of the podcast, Leadership and Professional Development with Don Gatewood.

He completed his bachelor’s studies at Wayne State University and master’s degree at University of Maryland. Gatewood also has a Certified Workforce Development Professional, DTM in Toastmasters International, Board of Director at Oglethorpe, Labor Management Committee, and a Contract Negotiator.

On today's episode of American gypC Podcast we had the pleasure of talking to Paul Kennedy about world travel and the food & culture of Vietnam. For the past thirty years Paul has been working in the restaurant business, bringing together delicious foods and atmospheres where customers could create their own memories.  Growing up in Northern Virginia, Paul went off to study hospitality management at East Carolina University, followed by culinary arts at Johnson & Wales University.  After his education he departed to New York City where he continued to establish himself in the restaurant world, while also homing in on his love of writing and photography.

In 2018, with a backpack and some inspiration, Paul cashed in his proverbial chips and took off to see the world.  The inspiration clearly worked because he never returned.  His journey of uncertainty found it’s purpose of exploring what the world has to offer. 

Paul is currently working on a cookbook about Vietnam’s food and culture that will be available in 2022. Besides authentic Vietnamese recipes, Paul hopes to do his part in peaking the readers’ interest in understanding the world, in any aspect.  Once you do that, he feels like everyone will understand each other a little better.
