Following through on promises is one of the most important qualities of a successful leader. It instills trust and confidence in those who follow them and encourages others to do the same. Leaders who break their promises, however, can quickly lose the respect of their team. By staying true to their word, leaders can gain credibility and show that they are reliable and trustworthy. Following through on promises also helps build stronger relationships with colleagues and customers, as it shows that you are dependable and reliable. It is also beneficial in creating a 'team culture' and not one of dictatorship.
