Awareness, knowledge and understanding is the best way to disarm the impact of being triggered on our thoughts, feelings, decisions and actions.
As the choices we make effectively build our life, it makes sense to check that we are taking actions from a more balanced state of mind as opposed to acting out of fear, frustration, depression, insecurity, anger etc.

Once you catch yourself being triggered you can then CHOOSE to RESPOND...even if you still feel shit.
You can avoid taking action that could not be the best for you or others.

I still get triggered but MOST od the time I don't let it control my actions or my outlook.
