On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, it’s time for our Fall TV preview 2021, including our most anticipated new and returning shows on the Fall television schedule. TV has evolved so much, and there are so many options, it becomes overwhelming every year to know what we should be spending our time on. Therefore we rolled up our sleeves, jumped in the water, and pulled out some of the best – and worst – that television has to offer this season. Hawkeye, The Book of Boba Fett, The Witcher, The Wheel of Time, Dexter, Foundation, Y: The Last Man, and so many more shows are discussed and dissected on our annual plunge into the biggest season for television.

Also this week: Norm Macdonald passes away, reviews of Malignant, Small Engine Repair, Kate, and much more.

On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, we are presenting our 2021 Summer Entertainment Awards and each category is for EITHER movies or TV. It’s our pick for the BEST in entertainment for the categories from May 1st through Labor Day weekend. The winners can be from any tv series (regardless of season) or movie, but had to be a new movie or aired that new episode between those dates.

Also on this episode, we discuss - with FULL SPOILERS - Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, we talk exclusively about the Fantasia International Film Festival. What the festival is, how it works, and especially, what movies we saw that you should keep an eye out for.

The Fantasia International Film Festival is one of the largest international film festivals dedicated to genre films and is celebrating its 25th year in 2021. The festival is located in Montreal, Canada, and in a mostly digital format for movie-lovers and critics from August 5-25, 2021, including screenings, premieres, panels, and workshops. The festival took a heightened focus on Japanese cinema this year “in celebration of the key role that Japan’s culture has played across Fantasia’s history”.

So sit back and relax. You’re about to experience Fantasia International Film Festival from the comfort of your own home.

On this episode of The Hollywood Outsider podcast, we debate which is scarier: psychological horror or gore? When you think of TV or movie scenes that terrify you, what stands out as the most horrifying? It's a dissection of the mind and body this week.
