When Moses encountered the burning bush, God told him, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground” (Exodus 3:5). But here’s the catch: it wasn’t a temple. It wasn’t a tabernacle. It was the middle of the desert—ordinary dirt transformed by the presence of God.
