Holy Interruptions episodes

  • Finding Inner Peace
Fr. Edwin and Alex are back for Episode 5. In this episode, Fr. Edwin and Alex explore what it takes to find and maintain peace while we navigate through the difficult circumstances around us and our own response to those challenges. Jesus promised us peace. Not false sense of peace the world offers, but the peace that helps us endures that can be found and maintained within us.
May the peace of the Risen Lord be with all of us!

Fr. Edwin and Alex are back with another episode of Holy Interruptions. It's been over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic brought the world to a halt. Everyone's lives have been effected somehow by this pandemic. Anna Sutton joins the podcast to share her experience as a Life Teen missionary and an Ave Maria University student. Anna shares how her formation helped her persevere through all the obstacles she's faced in the last year and how all of us are called to be missionaries where we are.

**Bonus Episode** Mission Monday reflection on Grief
I recently finished watching the series Wandavision on Disney+. Like so many that searched for answers and glues to help figure out the point of the show, I raced to the Easter egg videos to figure out what was going on in Wanda's world. Who was manipulating Wanda? How is Vision alive? Whose Ralph? Some speculated there was a bigger plot at work that connects to other Marvel characters. I have to say, I've never done a deep dive on a series like this one. So, what made this Marvel series stand out over the other Marvel projects.
I would argue that Wandavision had more to offer than your usual super hero series or movie. It's messy and chaotic in its exploration of Wanda's struggle with grief. Throughout the show we see how Wanda begins to lose her grip on the reality she created around her grief. I really think this show is timely, since all of us have had some sense of loss in the last 12 months. We've done our best to cope, endure, and survive the constant waves of frustration, loss, anger, and depression. When the time comes, we also have to put our walls down and face our own grief.
Thank you again to Fr. Ivan and the good people of Annunciation for inviting to be a part of their Mission Monday's during this season of Lent.

  • $5.00 Sushi
Lent is a time for prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. It's also a great time to pay closer attention to how Jesus is inviting you to deeper friendship and intimacy. Sometimes the invitation is obvious but other times don't be surprised if the everyday interruptions we face help realize we need to slow down. When life isn't going our way and Publix runs out of $5.00 sushi, even then Jesus wants to be near to us this Lent. Join Father Edwin and Alex as they share how their Lent is going.
Share this episode with anyone that wants to go deeper with the Lord this Lent.
