St Catherine of Siena was a lay religious person. She had many mystical experiences during her lifetime. She became involved in politics, and through her persuasive powers was instrumental in keeping the city states loyal to the Pope. She is the patron saint of fire prevention, nurses and many others. She died on April 29, 1380.

St Anselm, was the archbishop of Canterbury and known as a doctor of the church. He was very knowledgeable in the word of God, and had the ability to use logic to explain biblical truths of salvation and counter arguments put forth by atheists too. He died on April 21, 1109.

St Stanislaus is the patron saint of Poland, Krawkow and moral order. He was successful in his reforming efforts and hence became a much sought after spiritual adviser. He was martyred while saying mass on April 11, 1079.

St John Baptist de La Salle, a french priest, was very involved in education especially for boys from poor families. He founded the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and established many teacher colleges. He is considered the founder of the first Catholic schools.He is the patron saint of teachers and Christian educators. He died on April 7th, 1719.
